About Us
Welcome to our Greystone Bernedoodles, I am so glad you are here! Greystone Bernedoodles is a small high quality breeder, located in beautiful Simcoe County, Ontario. We raise our puppies on a culmination of Puppy Culture, Empowered Breeder Curriculum (BAB), Avidog and Midwoofery. Our program follows a week by week guide to aid in the neurological stimulation to instil emotional resilience in our puppies. This page is to help you get to know us. We hope you enjoy learning about how we ethically raise our puppies. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend.
My name is Sharon and I am the owner of Greystone Bernedoodles. My earliest memories from my younger years are of my menagerie of pets. If it had fur and a tiny heartbeat I was absolutely in love. This included everything from dogs and cats to furry rodents and collections of caterpillars. My father would read me James Harriott, the tales of a British farm vet, from there a passion was ignited. I spent my younger years dreaming of being a farm vet one day. Life had other plans, and for many years those dreams were put on hold. However, when we moved to our country property "Greystone" my journey of realizing my childhood dream of living a life surrounded by animals was finally able to become a reality.
I was introduced to the Bernese Mountain dog breed by a friend and I was grateful to find a wonderful breeder as a mentor and from there the passion was lit. As with everything, I strive for excellence. I researched, attended seminars, symposiums and surrounded myself with a circle of likeminded breeders that had the same goal. To breed with love, ethics and passion. To serve our dogs and their people well!
At this stage in my life, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to invest the majority of my time and energy into my passion as an animal lover and a breeder. I lead a very active lifestyle with my dogs constantly by my side. Our “lifestyle” does not depend on the number of puppies I produce, this allows me to be very intentional in my litter planning. My goal is to focus on breeding healthy, well tempered puppies and matching them with their furever families.
The ultimate goal at Greystone Bernedoodles, is to provide our families with a well-adjusted, confident and fun loving Bernedoodle puppy. We do this by implementing a combination of our proven puppy protocol program. Starting at day 3, we begin with the introduction of Early Neurological Stimulation where we begin to introduce our puppies to countless sounds, exposures, textures and social experiences. They have regular baths and their nails trimmed weekly. Each day we do puppy massages to accustom them to being touched on their ears, nose, bellies, tails, and feet. We begin outdoor pottying at approximately 6 weeks of age. Each pup is exposed to “challenging” situations to gradually instil confidence in them. An incredible amount of time, effort, energy, and love is invested in each puppy. This includes a lot of work but we understand that the first weeks of life are crucial in the development of a healthy, happy, and confident dog.
Our goal is to give puppies the best start possible, this includes health testing our parent dogs & giving our mom dogs the best care possible during pregnancy. I am hands on with the birthing of each puppy, each puppy is born in our home and is given love from the very beginnings of life and being wholly attentive to momma.
From the very start I am intentional in every stage and raising our puppies on our advanced puppy curriculum. We believe that the first experiences for puppies help shape them for a lifetime. Our program is built on proven puppy protocol techniques, and constant love and attention, giving them the best possible start at life.
We are forever grateful and indebted to our momma and papa dogs. They deserve all the love, gratitude and spoiling that they receive. I believe that every dog deserves to be part of a family, this means that all of our parent dogs live first and foremost as family pets. This core value is why we have chosen to run our program with the partnership of wonderful guardian families. All of our adult dogs live in either our home or loving homes that I stay closely connected to.

How does puppy pricing work?Raising puppies in an ethical, responsible way is no easy task. While I absolutely love and feel honoured to do this, it also requires unending commitment and sacrifice for those 8 weeks from when those little lives arrive, until when they are go home to their furever family. I pour the same amount of love, training and dedication into each puppy. Unlike some other breeds, Bernedoodles are each unique in their colour patterns. While I believe there is no reason to value a puppy based on colour, I have come to understand in my experience, that colour does play a part in the decision making of buyers. We want to give options to families and due to this reason, we have adjusted our pricing to give options to families that have had their applications approved. I also am grateful for the conscientious decision to choose to invest in a puppy from an ethical breeder, and I promise you, it is worth it! For further information on our current pricing please contact us.

What is our Genetic Health Warranty? Our parent dogs are health tested prior to breeding. We also provide a warranty against breed specific genetic conditions for your peace of mind.

When do we get to meet our puppy? We invite all adoptive families (families with deposits) for a Family Visit Day. This visit usually occurs when puppy selection has begun. Puppies have very sensitive immune systems so we are cautious in the first few weeks of life to keep them from being exposed to any germs that could compromise their health. Once the puppies are around 5 weeks old, we begin to allow future families to meet the puppies for selections. We send weekly progress reports and will post regularly on social media. We recommend following us so you don’t miss out on all the exciting memories and milestones. This will also help you get a better idea of what goes on behind the scenes. Please follow along on Facebook @Greystone Bernedoodles or our very lively instagram account @life_at_greystone.

How does puppy selection work? After spending countless hours with the puppies, I develop a strong sense of who these furbabies are emerging into, I will offer my professional recommendation, but ultimately the decision will be yours. We understand that people have preferences in looks and colour however, our hope and priority is that every puppy is matched with the right family to journey on a lifelong relationship. Selections will follow the order based on the reservation position. When it is your turn to pick your puppy, if the remaining puppies do not meet your criteria you may choose to move your deposit to our next available litter. (As the breeder, we have the right to hold back a puppy based on whether we feel they will benefit our program).
